Hand-Turned Spalted Birch Bowl with Mosaic Tile Band
Made in Ontario · One of a kind · This is the only one
This one started as a raw piece of spalted birch wood and ended up as something we're pretty proud of. Every twist in the grain, every dark streak left behind by nature — it's all still there, just cleaned up and brought to life on the lathe.
Wrapping the widest part of the bowl is a band of hand-set tiles, blacks, blues, greens, golds, and reds — set in clear resin. It's a little bit of colour against all that warm, honeyed wood. Use it on your kitchen table, your entryway, your mantle. Toss your keys in it. Put some fruit in it. Set it out and let people ask about it — because they will.
One of a kind
Each piece is made once from a single piece of wood. When it sells, there is not another one.
Finish
Hand finished with a wax polish and buffed to bring up the grain.
For decorative use.
Care
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep it out of the dishwasher and away from standing water and direct sun.
