A striking study in contrast and geometry. This hand-turned vessel is built from segments of walnut, bubinga, holly and maple, arranged in a bold, graphic pattern. The tapered conical form draws the eye upward while the segmented bands give it a rhythmic, almost architectural quality rarely seen in turned wood.
Each segment is cut and glued ring by ring, then turned on the lathe to reveal the sweeping curves where the pale and dark woods meet. Finished to a smooth, tactile surface that highlights the natural warmth of the grain.
